POLICE closed roads and motorists faced delays following a four car crash in Weymouth.

Emergency services were called to Lynch Road at around 1pm this afternoon.

Lynch Road was closed from the B3156 Lanehouse Rocks Road junction to the B3157 Chickerell Road junction, because of the accident.

The smash led to Lynch Lane also being closed to traffic.

Dorset Police were alerted at 1pm to a road traffic collision involving several vehicles.

Resident Samuel Bradley said: “A few cars had crashed near the fiveways junction near Alf’s Fish and Chip shop.

“There were two paramedics, three police cars and an ambulance.”

He added: “The road reopened at around 2.45pm.”

A spokesman for South Western Ambulance Service said: "We attended the scene and treated people there.

"No one was taken to hospital."
