ADULTS who are affected by diabetes and self-test their blood sugar are being invited to help with a review of glucose monitoring equipment at a series of events across Dorset.
The events have been organised by NHS Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group as part of a review of existing arrangements.
Dr Andrew Macklin, diabetes consultant from Dorset County Hospital, said: “We are currently undertaking a project to streamline the range of blood glucose monitoring equipment across the county and consider the input of those people already self-monitoring their levels to be invaluable – after all who knows more about the real world use of this type of equipment than those who already use it?
“Monitoring of glucose levels is important as it helps people to identify both low and high blood glucose readings at a level before they cause symptoms.”
