RENOWNED sculptor Philip Jackson has been named this year’s Purbeck Arts Weeks (PAW) president.
Philip succeeds Anthony Caro as head of the PAW Festival, which aims to nurture local talent and bring world-class artists to Purbeck.
A PAW spokesman said: “Philip Jackson is famous for his public commissions, as in the recent Bomber Command Memorial in Green Park, London, as well as for his more dramatic, elegant gallery sculptures inspired by Venetian Carnival and music.”
The spokesman added: “His work is very powerful and we are thrilled that one of his larger outdoor sculptures will be on public display during the festival.”
