DETECTIVES are renewing their appeal for witnesses following the burglary of a car and an ATM in Charmouth.

The standalone ATM was taken from Newlands Holiday Park sometime between 9pm on Tuesday, April 8 and 7am on Wednesday, April 9.

It is believed the machine was removed from the scene in a blue Mitsubishi L200, stolen some time between 10pm on Tuesday, April 8 and 8.45am on Wednesday April 9 from a driveway in Charmouth.

Detective Sergeant Tom Isaac, of Western CID, said: “The stolen items were of a high value and their loss has caused a considerable amount of inconvenience and expense to the owners.

“We encourage owners of premises with ATMs to be vigilant and ensure that they have security precautions in place.

“Although the victim in this case had locked the car, we are also appealing to 4x4 owners in the area to be aware and ensure that their vehicles are secured.

“We are interested to hear from anyone who may have seen any suspicious behaviour in the area at the time of the incident, or have any other information that could help with our investigation.”

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting crime number C:14:D:14137.
