A COMPANY director has been fined for an assault during a night out in Blandford.

Bradley Craig Windeatt, 40, appeared at Dorchester Crown Court to be sentenced for an offence of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Prosecutor Heather Shimmen told the court that on the night of December 21 last year the defendant pushed his victim to the floor in the street.

She said the man suffered a laceration to the bridge of his nose, which could leave a lasting scar, and damage to his teeth that required more than £5,000 worth of dentist work to repair.

Robert Grey, mitigating, said his client – a director of civil engineering firm Building Repairs and Drainage Limited – was full of remorse for his actions and had made immediate admissions.

He added that Windeatt, of Melway Gardens, Child Okeford, Blandford, was willing to pay compensation to his victim.

Judge Roger Jarvis fined the defendant £500 and ordered he pay compensation of £5,500.

He said: “This is going to be a very expensive night out for you.”
