TAKE a scenic walk around Portland Bill and the coast path this Easter.

A view from the lighthouse can offer an alternative view of the stunning surroundings.

Tours of the lighthouse are subject to weather conditions but last around 45 minutes and cost £4 for adults and £3 for children.

Alongside the lighthouse is the visitor centre which offers additional information on the lighthouse.

Portland Bill is situated along a costal path of dramatic cliffs, rare plants and unique views.

The path works its way around most of Portland, linking Portland Bill to the disused quarries that have been reclaimed by nature to provide a stunning and diverse landscape.

The walk is fairly flat through the quarries with only short ascents or descents that children can easily manage.

The years of quarrying have also left caves and caverns that all children would love to explore.

Another attraction along the path is Pulpit Rock which sticks out into the sea from a spur of rock and is a popular photographic opportunity.

The cliffs around Portland are said to be one of the most popular rock climbing venues in the South West.

Watching the rock climbers may even inspire you to take up a new hobby or just provide an interesting view as you sit and watch along the coastline.
