PORT chaplains and ship visitors are increasing their efforts to support the lives of seafarers at Easter.
Reverend Roger Stone, Apostleship of the Sea’s port chaplain for the South Coast, said: “I am aware that for seafarers the Church’s seasons are in danger of being much like any other working day – the only difference being that their separation from family and friends and restricted ability to practise their faith.”
Over Easter the Apostleship of the Sea will be visiting merchant ships and providing seafarers with a chance to celebrate their faith.
