A COMPANY with two Dorchester care homes has gone in to administration.

Buyers are being sought for Avenue House Nursing Home in Weymouth Avenue, a 33-bed residential home with 36 members of staff.

Also up for sale is Greenbushes Nursing Home along same road, which was closed in December.

Both were owned by Dorchester Care LLP.

Joint Administrators Bob Maxwell and Julie Palmer have appointed a care home operator to take care of Avenue House residents in the interim.

No redundancies have been made.

Bob Maxwell said: “Our key concern is ensuring that the care home continues to operate efficiently with the minimum of disruption to residents.”

For this reason, we have appointed a specialist healthcare management company whom we know well, and which has vast experience of managing care homes in administration, to oversee the smooth running of Avenue House.

“We, together with Goldcare, are working closely with the relevant authorities to maintain stability and ensure the smooth-running of the care home while a buyer is sought for the business as a going concern.”
