A NEW convenience store has opened its doors in Dorchester.
Mayor of Dorchester Stella Jones cut the ribbon to declare the Fairfield Convenience Store officially open.
The store on Maumbury Road, near the junction with Weymouth Avenue, will be run by Jay and Thachayini Naguleswaran, who run a similar store in King Street in Weymouth.
Thachayini said the store was a great location for passing trade and she was looking forward to welcoming in shoppers over the coming months.
She said: “We are really looking forward to the summer.”
Councillor Jones said she was pleased to be welcoming a new business to the town and said it was in a great position for people using the town’s skatepark or enjoying events in Maumbury Rings.
She said: “It’s always nice to see another store opening in Dorchester.
“I wish them all the best success.”
