GET help and advice for older people on Portland.
Age UK on Portland is based at the old library in Fortuneswell.
They provide a range of services to help older people in the community and can provide help and advice to older people and their carers on a variety of topics.
Help includes giving advice on their right to an assessment of their needs, local eligibility criteria and the means-test for both non-residential and residential community care, arrangements for care after discharge from hospital and non-residential care such as: equipment in the home, home care, day centres, meal provision and assistive technology.
They can also provide advice to challenge decisions such as: care assessments, for example, long waits, financial assessments, services provided or the resource allocation system and refusal to provide services or equipment.
