PEOPLE with a sense of adventure can cycle to Paris while fundraising for a Dorset disability charity.

The fundraising opportunity is part of an annual cycle ride from London to Paris on September 3 to September 7 that will raise money for Diverse Abilities Plus, a charity supporting children and adults with learning difficulties in Dorset.

The charity is looking for keen cyclists to take part in this annual event which will offer the opportunity to cycle down England’s rolling hills and wind through picturesque French towns before ending up in Paris, complete with hotel nights in between.

Sharon Wells, event fundraiser at Diverse Abilities Plus, above, said: “The London to Paris Bike Ride is great for team building as well as individuals.

“Everyone is welcome to join the fun-packed trip and all that’s needed is a love of cycling and a sense of adventure. It is guaranteed to be an exhilarating ride, a wonderful journey and a great place to meet people and share an experience. The cycling opportunity will take you on a beautifully picturesque route through Britain and France, and will help us support individuals and families in the local area.”

Entry fee to the cycle fundraiser is £99 and the charity asks for a minimum sponsorship of £1,450, which will help support the work of Diverse Abilities.

'Unforgettable trip'

Dorset cyclists Steve Tai and Shaun Goodall took part in the cycle for the charity last year.

Steve said: “The trip was an unforgettable life experience; we met so many amazing and inspirational people.

“The ride was a challenge, but so many people supported us and the funds that we raised kept us going.”

Shaun said after taking part in the cycle he is looking forward to raising more for Diverse Abilities in the future, because the charity is a deserving cause.
