FLORAL tributes have been left on a boat owned by a man who was found dead on a beach.

Ken Walton was discovered on Monmouth Beach at Lyme Regis last Saturday.

The community has been left in shock by his death.

Floral tributes have been left on Mr Walton’s boat Mudlark, pictured right, which is situated close to Lyme Regis Harbour and the historic Cobb.

One card read accompanying some flowers read: “It’s horrible every time I see a red coat, because it reminds me of you getting off your boat.

“I just hope you’re upstairs resting with the other kings. Never alone.”

The Volunteer Inn on Broad Street – where Mr Walton was a regular – has displayed a ukulele he used to play behind the bar in his memory.

A memorial event is set to take place at the pub in memory of Mr Walton.

Friend Dave Lloyd, referred to him as a ‘real character with an eccentric personality’ and added: “Ken was always up for a laugh and loved having a fun time.”

It is not yet known what caused Mr Walton’s death, but Dorset Police have confirmed they are not treating it as suspicious.
