A DRIVER is being sought after they failed to stop at the scene of a crash in Weymouth.
Dorset Police said a white Peugeot Expert 1200 and a grey Skoda Fabia were travelling along Granby Way when another vehicle travelling in the opposite direction overtook the line of traffic at speed. This vehicle then braked hard causing the Peugeot and Skoda to brake also. The Skoda and the Peugeot then collided.
The Skoda suffered front end damage and had to be recovered. The Peugeot received minor damage.
The driver of the overtaking vehicle failed to stop.
The collision happened almost two weeks ago but Dorset Police are only now issuing an appeal.
Sergeant Scott Mcfarland, of Weymouth police, said: “I am appealing for anyone with information about this incident to contact Dorset Police.
“The overtaking vehicle is believed to be an estate-style Subaru Imprezza, possibly grey or silver in colour. I would like to speak with the driver of this vehicle to ascertain exactly what happened.”
It happened about 9am on Friday, April 11.
Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 11:90.
