AN ICONIC Dorset event has received backing from a local estate and lettings agency.
Dorchester based DOMVS has agreed to sponsor the renowned Dorset Knob Throwing Festival, which is held every year at Cattistock.
The event takes place on Sunday, May 4 and is expected to attract around 5,000 visitors.
The festival runs from 10am to 4am and as well as the knob throwing there will be knob eating, knob painting, a knob and spoon race, guess the weight of the big knob, knob darts and a knob pyramid.
DOMVS director Polly Greenway said: “Our philosophy is based on being part of the local community and supporting local tradition.
“You cannot get more traditional than the Dorset knob biscuit, the origins of which go back over 150 years.
“We are delighted to be involved with and support this traditional event.”
