THE efforts of local Scouts have helped put a smile on the faces of patients at Dorset County Hospital’s Kingfisher Ward.
Youngsters at the Dorchester hospital will be able to enjoy using new portable DVD players after Weymouth and Portland District Scouts raised £400 for the ward.
The Scouts had chosen the Kingfisher Ward as its nominated charity last year and raised the funds through a number of events including a St George’s Day parade and a carol service.
Play specialist at the Kingfisher Ward Julie Goodall said: “We are really grateful for this very generous donation from the scouts.”
