FIREFIGHTERS put out a moped that was on fire in Weymouth early this morning.
The moped was found underneath the footbridge on the Rodwell Trail at Wyke Regis.
Crews from Weymouth fire station were alerted to the incident at around 5am.
A spokesperson for Dorset Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews were on the scene within six minutes.
"There seemed to be a moped alight which was extinguished.
"The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate and the police were informed.
"The moped was destroyed."
A spokesperson for Dorset Police confirmed they received a report of the incident.
She added the moped was a Peugeot Kisbee 50cc that belonged to a man from Weymouth.
