FIRST Dorset Credit Union will open a new service point for Wareham residents next week.
It will be in the Not for Sundaes cafe every Thursday from 10am to noon, starting May 8.
The local tenants’ panel of Synergy Housing has provided a grant to support the cost of opening this new service point including paying for IT equipment.
First Dorset Credit Union (FDCU) is an ethical banking service where members can save money and apply for loans.
All money deposited is guaranteed by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
FDCU has 15 service points across West Dorset, North Dorset, Weymouth and Portland staffed by volunteers.
Wareham will be the first service point in the Purbeck district and will be staffed by volunteers.
