SOUTH Dorset MP Richard Drax will call on the government to look at its funding for rural bus services.

Tonight Mr Drax will speak in the House of Commons during the time set aside for adjournment debates.

In the half-hour adjournment debate at the end of each day’s sitting in the House, the MP who tabled the relevant debate is called to speak and a Minister will reply.

He will call on the government to look at their funding for rural bus routes. Speaking to the Echo before the debate was called, Mr Drax said that rural routes were very important for linking remote communities and that he had received a number of emails from concerned residents in south Dorset worried about the cutting back of bus routes.
