A MAN accused of sexually assaulting a girl on Portland has taken to the stand to deny the allegations in court.

Kenneth Paul McGee, 54, denies two charges of causing or inciting a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity and sexual assault of a child under 13.

The allegations relate to July 19, 2013, and involve the same child, who was 11 at the time.

In his trial at Dorchester Crown Court McGee, of Verne Common Road, Portland, was asked by his barrister David Lyons: “Did you do anything that night which could be reg-arded as sexual towards her?”

He told the jury: “Definitely not, no.”

In cross-examination McGee denied asking the girl to expose herself, make her touch him or kissing her and putting his tongue in her mouth.

He added that he could not think of a reason for the girl making up the allegations.

Prosecutor Heather Shim-men said: “I suggest you are the one who is lying about what went on that night on July 19.”

McGee simply replied: “No.”

When asked how the allegations made him feel, the defendant replied: “Really angry.”

The case continues.
