Two motorcycle clubs have raised £2,500 for Weldmar hospice.

Weldmar Hospicecare Trust is supported by a number of social groups and clubs across Dorset, and two of these clubs visited Weldmar’s inpatient unit, Joseph Weld Hospice in Dorchester, to present the money they have raised over the last few months.

The ‘Undecided? Riders Social Club’ of Littlemoor, Weymouth, pictured, chose to support Weldmar as some of their members families had been looked after by the trust.

The top-hatted club visited Weldmar to present a cheque for £1,730, which was raised through a variety of fundraising activities and events through the year.

Each year, at the Weldmar Summer Fete, the Wessex Wings, a part of the Goldwing Owners Club of Great Britain, display their bikes, and volunteer on one of the stalls.

They also visited the hospice to present a cheque for £719 – which was raised from various fundraising events and raffles.

Mark Howlett, Weldmar’s Community Fundraiser for south Dorset, said: ”On behalf of all the patients and families that we support across Dorset, I would like to say a massive thank you to every biker that has supported us and to the Wessex Wings and Undecided? Riders Social Club for the incredible amount they have raised.

“We couldn’t continue the work that we do without the support from such a wide range of clubs, individuals and businesses, such as these biking groups.”
