DORCHESTER youngsters are expected to greet Will Harris as he drops into Dorchester Sports Centre on an epic charity challenge.

Will, who works at 1610’s Stanchester Sports Centre near Yeovil, is taking on a five-day cycle round all 19 of the company’s leisure centres to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

He will set off on Monday, May 12, and his first day will see him stop in Dorchester at 12.30pm.

Local schoolchildren are expected to greet him and take part in a spinathon.

The sports centre operator has been raising funds for Macmillan for the last year and hopes that 22-year-old Will’s ride will bring the total to around £13,000.

Will said: “I’m excited about the challenge despite the prospect of tired and aching limbs, but I have great support from colleagues and the schools along the way.

“It promises to be a great community event for all, which is so apt as it brings to an end 12 months of dedicated fundraising by 1610 for Macmillan Cancer Support.”
