Employers can’t wait to man their stalls at this year’s Dorset Echo Jobs Fair.

And one employer looking forward to even more recruiting success than last year is Avon.

Di Bruce-Kidman, area sales manager for Avon in Dorset, said they were expecting to find many strong candidates on the day.

She said: “The jobs fair is a great way for us to open doors for local jobseekers looking for interesting opportunities with us, while giving people a chance to see us from a different viewpoint.

“In 120 years Avon has changed and we’re not just about part-time door to door sales. Our UK market is the strongest in the world and we’re looking for team leaders to join other brilliant entrepreneurs working for Avon as their main career.”

Now in its fourth year, the jobs fair will be held in the Ocean Room at Weymouth Pavilion on Wednesday, May 14, bringing a wide range of businesses and jobseekers together to network.

There will also be a variety of career workshops on the day which will help candidates gain interview and CV writing skills and build their confidence. Bay Publishing, an international publishing house based in Weymouth, is a first-time attendee and wants to provide opportunities to confident and outgoing candidates who may not have considered a career as advertising sales executives.

Sian Parsons, group sales manager at Bay Publishing, said: “We’re looking forward to joining many other companies at the Dorset Echo jobs fair and continue to raise our local profile.

“The fair is the ideal chance for us to speak directly to potential employees so they’re aware they don’t necessarily need loads of experience to start a career with us, if they have the personality and drive that we are looking for.”
