WEYMOUTH’s traffic police are appealing for witnesses after a crash on the A31.
At around 12.30am yesterday (15) officers said an accident occurred on the A31 at Ashley Heath.
A dark green BMW hit the barrier on the A338 flyover travelled down the embankment and landed on its side on the A31.
The occupants of the BMW car were taken to Poole General Hospital and treated for serious injuries, officers said.
A spokesman for the police said: “We are appealing for witnesses and in particular would like to speak to the driver of a white Mercedes Sprinter van that may have collided with the BMW.”
Dorset Police said that one of the occupants of the BMW has been arrested on suspicion of driving offences and is helping officers with their enquiries.
Anyone with information should contact PC Stroud at Weymouth Traffic Unit on 101.
