NEW Look fashion founder Tom Singh saw his family fortune soar by £110million in the past year.

The Singh family is now worth £430million, according to the annual Sunday Times Rich List.

His wealth is estimated to have risen from £320m in 2013 to £430m this year, putting him joint 238th in the table.

He now tops West Dorset landowner The Hon Charlotte Townshend in the list of the wealthiest people in the county.

Despite her wealth increasing by £35m to £410m Ms Townshend has slipped from eighth to tenth on the regional list.

She has an estimated 15,000 acres of land in Dorset with farming and estate companies, plus property in affluent Holland Park in west London. Her Ilchester estate, which she inherited in 1990, includes parts of Chesil Beach as well as Abbotsbury Swannery.

Others with Dorset connections in the top South West Rich List include businessmen Andrew Brownsword and Michael Cannon.

Mr Brownsword also saw his personal fortune and standing increase by £15m from £210m to £260m.

He derives his fortune from greetings cards and hotels. He lives in Bath but is the benefactor behind the Brownsword Hall at Poundbury.

Brewer and entrepreneur Mr Cannon saw his rise by £10m to £240m.

Mr Cannon, formerly of Poxwell Manor, near Osmington, headed up both Weymouth-based Devenish and Dorchester-based Eldridge Pope breweries.
