POLICE are trying to trace an elderly woman who drove off after a crash in North Dorset.
Police said an elderly woman driving a green 4x4 vehicle collided with a silver Peugeot 306 causing significant damage to the front of the vehicle.
The driver then got out of her car and checked the damage before driving away. She failed to report the collision and left no contact details.
It happened around midday on Friday, May 9 outside the post office in High Street, Gillingham.
PC Mike Henstridge, of Gillingham police, said: “I am appealing for anyone who may have seen this incident to contact Dorset Police.
“I also encourage the driver involved in the collision to do the right thing and speak with us as soon as possible.”
Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 09:282.
