THE FINISHING touches have been added to crown a development of luxury apartments in Poundbury.

Local firm C G Fry & Son organised the project that saw a large crane lift a cupola, compete with gold finial, into position at Corston House.

The scheme in Poundbury’s south west quadrant is now nearing completion and offers five luxurious apartments built in brick with authentic stone detailing.

It is the latest addition from C G Fry & Son’s, which has played a major part in the building of more than 500 houses as well as commercial properties at Prince Charles’ model development of Poundbury.

When completed the south west quadrant will boast around 250 dwellings and will draw closely on the architecture of the late 18th and early 19th century in Dorchester and surrounding towns, with a particular attention to detail for elements such as door surrounds, eaves, brickwork and metalwork.

Corston House will feature one three-bedroom and four two-bedroom apartments with large windows and high ceilings.

Each apartment will also have individual features and two parking spaces.

Head of sales and marketing at C G Fry & Sons Caroline Hill said that the scheme was likely to attract ‘very discerning purchasers’ as the apartments offered ‘the height of luxury’.

She said: “This really is a very special building with stunning apartments offering the height of luxury. “The generous proportions and large windows create a spacious, light and airy feel throughout and being located in prestigious Poundbury means they will attract very discerning pur-chasers.”

The next phase of Poundbury will see the development of the north east quadrant, with the first stage of the scheme soon to begin.

C G Fry & Sons will be working on a mix of freehold houses and two coach houses.
