HEALTH services in Dorset are seeking residents’ views about using local pharmacies.

Public Health Dorset, working with NHS Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group and NHS England, is carrying out a Pharmaceutical Needs Assess-ment. The survey aims to find out where people currently use pharmacy services, what they use them for, and why they use it as well as how far people travel to get to a pharmacy.

Once completed, the Pharmaceutical Needs Assess-ment will plot out existing pharmacy and dispensary services across Dorset and how people use them. They will then be used by NHS England when they make decisions about pharmacy services in the future.

Jane Horne, consultant at Public Health Dorset, said: “It will find any gaps in services and highlight where pharmacies should be going in the future and what services they provide.”
