A VAN driver chose the wrong place to park when they left the vehicle by a wall at the back of a building in Poundbury.

Day tripper Sarah Wright, from Langport in Somerset, spotted this van that had been crushed when rocks came tumbling down on it from the wall just behind Queen Mother Square at Prince Charles model development.

Sarah was on the way back from visiting Durdle Door with her husband when she saw the van in its predicament.

She said: “Every few years we go down to Durdle Door and when we come back we stop and see how Poundbury is getting on.

“We saw this by Peverell Avenue West just before you get to Woodland Crescent.

“It was between two large buildings where a wall was being built to create a drive way or something.

“The one on the left hand side was fine but the one on the right had obviously come down in quite a dramatic fashion.”

Simon Conibear from the Duchy of Cornwall said he had heard that the wall was knocked down by a lorry delivering to the Little Waitrose store at Queen Mother Square.
