MOTIVATIONAL writer Gill Donnell will be speaking at the annual general meeting of the Women's Action Network Dorset (WAND).

The group is preparing to launch its Wake Up Women – A Year of Empowerment campaign and is holding the meeting at the Borough Gardens Cottage in Dorchester’s West Walks from 6pm on Wednesday, June 11.

Speaker Gillwhose Unlock Your Daughters website details her expertise in motivating women, will also be donating a signed copy of her latest book Celebr8 Success as one of the prizes in a free prize draw for all women attending.

She said: “I am really thrilled to be asked to speak at the WAND AGM and look forward to supporting the launch of their Wake up Women – A Year of Empowerment campaign.”

WAND chairwoman Sue Bickle added: “WAND is celebrating 10 years this year and we will be running a programme of activities throughout the year to encourage women to take control of their lives, step out of their comfort zones and try something different.”

Any woman attending can bring along two items of clothing, jewellery or accessories and take part in a free ‘swish’, where they can swap their items with other women.

The WAND committee will also be serving up cream teas.
