A DIVER was airlifted to Poole after making a rapid ascent.
The 42-year-old male surfaced missing a stop whilst four and a half nautical miles west of Portland.
Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 106 was scrambled at around 10.36am on Monday to airlift the diver from a Weymouth dive boat called Tango.
Action was taken after receiving medical advice by the dive doctor.
The man was taken to the landing site at Poole where he was met by the dive doctor, Southwest Ambulance service and Coastguard Rescue Officers from Poole.
