PORTLAND coastguards assisted two boats that had broken down.
On Monday afternoon a 26ft Bayliner contacted coastguards after suffering engine failure 100 yards off South Beach, Studland.
Sea Start was contacted at around 3.52pm and an engineer went out to the vessel. The vessel was fixed and returned to Cobb's Quay in Poole.
Later on in the day a yacht named Sylphe called Portland Coastguard reporting the loss of engine cooling and insufficient wind to make way.
The call was made at around 3pm whilst the boat was 10 miles east of Weymouth Harbour. A yacht named Fellowship responded to radio communications and towed Sylphe to Portland Marina.
Meanwhile, Portland Coastguard made contact with the owner of a boat reported to be abandoned.
