WITNESSES are being sought after a motorcyclist failed to stop for police.

The incident happened at around 7pm on Monday, May 19 on the A338.

Officers from Christchurch were on a routine patrol on the southbound carriageway at the Blackwater junction when, acting on information received, they attempted to stop a black Suzuki motorcycle.

The vehicle failed to stop and made off at speed towards Bournemouth. Police continued to try and stop the vehicle until they reached the area of Richmond Hill where they ceased to follow it for safety reasons.

The rider is described as wearing a red fleece with black markings on the sides, and no gloves.

Police Constable Chris Vaughan, of Bournemouth police, said: “The motorbike was being ridden in a dangerous and careless manner when it failed to stop and I am appealing for any witness to this manner of riding.

“I also urge anyone who may have any information about the identity of the rider to come forward.”

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 19:376.
