POLICE are continuing to investigate the disappearance of a Poole nurse this morning, with a man arrested on suspicion of murder still being held.

Their efforts have so far focused on three scenes – a home in Burnham Drive, Queen’s Park, a house in Wolverton Road, Boscombe, and the Cromer Motors garage in St Clement’s Road, Boscombe.

It is believed that officers have seized items from the premises, including a computer, laptop and mobile phones.

Detectives are trying to build up a picture of the life of 44-year-old Rui Li, who was last seen leaving Poole Hospital, where she works, at around 6pm on Friday.

A 60-year-old man from Bournemouth has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Forensics examinations were being carried out at all three addresses yesterday.

This morning, the home in Burnham Drive remains taped off, as does Cromer Motors. Security guards are keeping watch on all three scenes.

Speaking to the Daily Echo yesterday, DI Marcus Hester, of the Major Crime Investigation Team, said that he had hope that Rui was still alive, but developments in the investigation, which he said he couldn’t reveal, meant that detectives had serious concerns for her welfare.

He said that she had family in Boscombe, but said he could not reveal the nature of the relationship between Rui and the arrested man.

Police circulated a photograph of Rui, who is described as a slim woman of Chinese appearance and roughly 5ft 5in tall.

She sometimes wears glasses and often wears her shoulder-length black hair in a ponytail.

Anyone with information should call Dorset Police on 101, quoting Operation Timekeeper.
