PUPILS from Broadwindsor Primary School showed strokes of geniuses as they entered a painting competition at a local care home.

The children were invited to the West Dorset-based Broadwindsor Care Home to paint their own paintings of the 150 year old house and gardens.

Jenny Cuthbert, a local artist, then judged the pictures and chose a picture painted by seven-year-old Farrell as the winner, and one by Rosie which was highly commended.

She said: “The overall standard was very high and it was a difficult decision.

“There are definitely some talented young artists at Broadwindsor School.

“I picked Farrell’s picture as it showed great technical skills that were well beyond his age.”
