FLASH flooding is causing problems on the roads this afternoon.
It comes after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for Dorset.
Surface water is reported on the A35 at Winterbourne Abbas after a thunder storm and on the A352 at East Knighton.
The weather warning is in place until 10pm.
Heavy and thundery downpours are expected across southern England and the Met Office is warning residents to be aware of the risk of flooding.
A spokesman said: “A deeply unstable air mass is likely to affect southwest Britain later today associated with a slack area of low pressure over the English Channel.
“Some locally intense downpours are likely to develop giving 15mm in less than an hour, and some 30mm in three hours or less.”
He added: “It looks as if the greater risk is across Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire. However, as often happens in these situations, rainfall amounts could vary markedly, with some areas missing the worst.”
