TRIBUTES have been paid to a young Weymouth man found dead earlier today.

Emergency Services rushed to the scene at Magnolia Close, Littlemoor, just after 9am this morning, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene by the paramedics.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and the coroner has been informed.

The Echo has agreed not to name the man until all next of kin have been informed.

Neighbours spoke of their shock at the news, with Karn Standley, who lives opposite, describing him as a “brilliant lad”.

Mr Standley, 26, went to Wey Valley School and Sports College with his neighbour.

He said: “We don't know what really happened we just saw all the police and ambulances out here this morning just after 9am.

“Nothing like this has happened here before while I have been living here. “He was a brilliant lad, I have always got on with him brilliantly.”

Mr and Mrs Downton saw the police cars as they were preparing breakfast in their kitchen.

Mr Downton said: “We just saw one of the work vans move and then an ambulance came rushing round with its lights flashing and the paramedics ran into the house.

“We spoke to them a couple of times, they are a really nice family and it's such a shame.”

Mrs Downton added: “My heart goes out to them, it really does. As a mother myself it's your worst nightmare. All of our thoughts are with them.”

Michael Phillips, from Sequal Gardening was working in gardens nearby. Mr Phillips said: “I saw an ambulance, two police cars and some plain clothes officers. There were a lot of people hanging around outside the front of the house and people were saying that someone had died.

A spokesman for the police said: "At 9.30am this morning, Dorset Police received a report that sudden death had occurred at an address on Magnolia Close in Weymouth.

"Officers attended together with the ambulance service where sadly a man was found to have died at the scene.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious, the next of kin and coroner have been informed."

A spokesman for the South West Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 9.23am yesterday morning to Magnolia Close in Weymouth.

“One man, aged 25, was pronounced dead at the scene by the paramedics.”
