THESE dramatic pictures show a potential twister forming over Dorset.
They were sent in by Echo reader Jason Freeman and were taken by him on Thursday afternoon over Crossways.
Mr Freeman said the clouds formed as heavy rain lashed the county.
He said: “Despite there being very little wind, I noticed a dark area of cloud appear and start to rotate developing as seen in the photos. It lasted about one minute then dissipated.”
Mr Freeman said he is a keen follower of the weather online and watches lots of documentaries on the subject.
He added: “It was definitely the beginnings of a twister, and had the classic rapid rotation forming which created the funnel shape.
“What made it more noticeable was that it was a very still day, with rain falling vertically, so it made the rapid movement of the cloud formations stand out.”
