A SURPRISING number of adults don’t know how to read and write.
And that is why Mike Parker, president of Weymouth Rotary Club, chose Read Easy to receive a £500 cheque to help with its good works.
The local Read Easy group offers anyone over 18 a chance to learn or get help with reading for free in one-to-one sessions.
Susan Francis, group co-ordinator and Hilary Churchouse, group secretary, both of Read Easy, were invited to give a talk to the Rotary Club of Weymouth about their work in the area.
They were later presented with the cheque, which will go towards their valued work.
If you are or if you know an adult who cannot read or struggles with reading, contact Susan on 08444 724 827 or 07935 213 682 or email susan@readeasy.org.uk.
