The church of Saint Simon and St Jude in Winterborne Monkton is holding a flower festival with musical accompaniment.

The festival on the weekend of Saturday, June 21 and Sunday, June 22 will have a theme of ‘marriage with music’ with flowers arranged by churches from across the benefice and from the deanery.

Every arrangement will celebrate a wedding anniversary.

The festival will run from 10am to 5pm on both the Saturday and the Sunday with cream teas and refreshments being served.

There will be live music on both days at 2.30pm with the Monkton String Quartet performing on the Saturday and Duncan Honeybourne playing the organ on the Sunday.

A souvenir history of the ancient parish church, which dates back to the 13th century, has been specially prepared for the occasion.

Entrance is free.
