DORCHESTER will play host to a number of crime prevention events as part of Neighbourhood Watch Week.

Dorset Police is supporting the event and will have a stand in South Street on Wednesday, June 18 where neighbourhood officers will offer burglary and theft prevention advise between 10am and 2pm.

Free purse chains and other goods will be handed out throughout the day.

On Thursday, June 19 officers will hold a surgery at Dorchester Library from 10.30am to 12.30pm and on Saturday, June 21 there will be a crime prevention event at Scats in The Grove between 10am and 2.30pm.

A spokesman for Dorset Police urged the public to support the event and take the opportunity to engage with their local officers.
