WEYMOUTH and Portland have been featured in the new National Cycle Network leaflets for West Dorset routes 2 and 26.
The Visit Dorset Tourism team worked with Dorset County Council to update both leaflets ready for the summer and both route maps have been extended to the areas including the Rodwell Trail, which runs from Weymouth to Portland.
National Cycle Network Routes already provide cycle trails ranging from Lyme Regis to Sherborne, with shorter circular routes along the way.
Cllr Rachel Rogers, Weymouth & Portland Borough Council's spokesman for Tourism and Culture, said: “Dorset offers many opportunities for cycling, from sign posted NCN routes throughout Dorset and along scenic disused railway lines such as the Rodwell Trail, to off-road forest trails such as Moors Valley, which are great for families.
"For local residents and visitors alike, cycling is a fantastic way to explore our beautiful county, spend quality time with family or friends and get fitter while having a great time.”
Leaflets are available from Tourist Information Centres across Dorset and can be downloaded from visit-dorset.com.
