VOLUNTEERS are sought to become advocates for people living with cancer across the county.
Dorset Macmillan Advocacy is looking for more helpers who can assist those in need by offering practical assistance and support.
Kathleen Gillett, Macmillan project co-ordinator, said: “We provide a one-to-one advocacy service for people over the age of 50 living with cancer in Dorset – delivered by Help & Care and Dorset Advocacy, and funded by Macmillan Cancer Support.
“Our aim is to help older people make informed choices and decisions about treatment and care. We can help find out whatever they need to know – from information on cancer through to what practical help is available locally.”
Volunteers should able to give about half a day a week. Call 0300 012 0256 or email macmillan@helpandcare.org.uk
