A WEST Dorset couple have celebrated 60 years together.
Trevor and Joan Wilkinson, from Melplash, celebrated their diamond anniversary with a party attended by friends and family at Mapperton Gardens.
The great-grandparents, aged 82 and 84, met in Bath when they were teenagers.
Mrs Wilkinson said: “We had a wonderful time at our anniversary celebrations and it was amazing for us to be amongst so many friends that we have made over the years – people that mean so much to us both.
“To have had this time remembering stories and events that we shared together was priceless, and something that both of us will always remember with much affection.”
She added: “The day would not have been complete without our family being there with us.
“It was the perfect day, so thank you to everyone who shared it with us.”
The couple say ‘patience and common sense’ are the keys to a long and happy marriage.
