SKATERS and BMX riders will be hoping to hit the heights this weekend for the rescheduled Dorchester Skate Jam.

The town’s fifth annual Skate Jam is taking place on Saturday after poor weather meant the event had to be postponed back in April.

There will be a host of fun and entertainment for all ages centred around the skate park from 11am.

This year the event will also be an official qualifier for the NASS action sports music festival in Somerset.

West Dorset District Council’s community development officer Emma Scott thanked all those who had helped put on the event and urged people to come and enjoy the day.

She said: “I am really impressed by the amount of great help this event has been given.”

Participants of all ages are encouraged to join in, with under nines required to bring an adult to register them and all riders advised to wear helmets and other safety gear.
