A FINAL call is being made for book lovers and scribes to join the Dorset Readers’ and Writers’ Day.

There are still a few tickets left for the biennial event, which promises to be a literary feast with a fantastic line-up of celebrated authors sharing their passion. The event takes place Saturday, June 28 at the Exchange, Sturminster Newton.

Cllr Colin Jamieson, cabinet member for community services at Dorset County Council, said: “If, like me, you have a passion for reading and writing, you’ll love Dorset’s Readers’ and Writers’ Day. There is a brilliant mix of best-selling, nationally-acclaimed and local authors lined up, who will inspire you with their energy and enthusiasm. It fits very well with our work to promote books and the enjoyment of reading.”

Best-selling authors Denise Mina, Matt Haig and Judy Astley will be there to talk about their books and inspirations. There will also be a performance by topical poet and radio 4 regular, Matt Harvey.

There is a wide range of exciting workshops to choose from, covering everything from creative writing to poetry and book discussion sessions. For more details visit news.dorsetforyou. com/libraries/library-events/
