FILM lovers packed Dorchester’s Borough Gardens to enjoy an outdoor cinema experience.

Youngsters from Dorchester Youth Extra (DYE) organised the event, which featured screenings of Finding Nemo and Warhorse.

With fine weather, a bouncy castle and cinema snacks, the event proved popular and organisers have hailed it as a great success.

West Dorset District Council community development officer Emma Scott said: “The park was packed and I’ve had lots of positive feedback.

“Dorchester Youth Extra, who had fundraised to pay for the event, had wanted to put on an inter-generational event and there were people of all ages and the atmosphere was great.”

Mrs Scott thanked Dorchester Town Council for allowing DYE to use the Gardens and said the group was already thinking about planning another event.

She said: “It was just such a lovely setting so we want to say a big thank-you to Dorchester Town Council for helping to sponsor the event and letting us use the Borough Gardens because it does make an ideal venue.”
