SIGHTINGS of giant jellyfish continue to be sighted in the waters around Weymouth and Portland.
Since last month dozens of sightings have been reported of the barrel jellyfish, with tidal conditions and the warm weather believed to be attracting the sea creatures closer to the shoreline.
The RNLI Lifeguards Wey-mouth had to deal with yet another specimen that washed up on the beach.
Kayaker Alistair Williams, who has paddled out into the bay, says there are hundreds more just off the Dorset coast.
Kate Chard recently told the Echo that she had spotted one at Pirate’s Cove in Wyke Regis that measured almost three feet.
She said it was the biggest she had seen and the following day on her daily dog walk she saw a further seven jellyfish in the area.
