A PENSIONER who had the batteries stolen from his mobility scooter hopes to get back on the road after they were recovered.
Ronald McKendry was left devastated when the thieves stole the batteries from his buggy, which he uses to go food shopping for him and his wife, were taken on Sunday night.
The mobility scooter was dismantled and the batteries taken out while outside his flat at Jubilee Court in Bridport Road.
He said he now has to get the buggy checked over by an engineer before he can use it again but hopes to be given the ok to get going again soon. Police are still appealing for witnesses to contact them on 101.
