ALL SAINTS Church in Piddletrenthide is hosting another summer spectacular concert to raise funds for local charities.

Popular tenor John Hudson and friends will be performing at the church tomorrow from 7.30pm .

It will be the church’s fifth concert featuring the renowned singer, with previous events attracting large audiences and creating an ‘electric atmosphere’ according to the organisers.

This year’s event will start with songs from the children of Piddle Valley First School, with music taken from their school play The Wind in the Willows.

Mr Hudson, who was a principal of the English National Opera and has sung in many countries around the world as well as some of Britain’s most famous venues, will perform a selection of arias.

They will include those from the first act of Puccini’s La Boheme, which he will perform with Camilla Foster-Mitchell, a local girl who is currently working as a music teacher in London and sings with Co-Opera in the capital city.

All of the performers on the night will have local links, including Magdalena Atkinson, who will include a selection of songs including ‘Every Time We Say Goodbye’.

Organisers Janet Keen and Sue Beckingham said: “Piddletrenthide is privileged to have a good range of musicians and they will also be performing on piano, clarinet and saxophone.

“How talented is this village? Find out by coming along!”

Tickets cost £10 for adults including canapés and £6 for children.

They can be purchased from the Piddeltrenthide shop or from Janet on 01300 348851.

Money raised from the event will go to support All Saints Church, Piddletrenthide Memorial Hall, Piddle Valley School and bereaved children’s charity Mosaic.
