CHANCERY House day care centre has launched a Friends’ scheme.
Chancery House president Monica Burt said: “The idea is that we have somebody that we can go to when we need help, advice, volunteering, specialist knowledge, plus the fundraising.”
The popular day care centre has had notice that Dorset County Council will be cutting its funding – but the centre won’t know the details until at least August, said Mrs Burt.
She added: “People think we get funding from Age UK.
“We have to do all our own fundraising which can be very difficult, particularly now as we are not getting the same level of funding from the county council.”
